AWelcome Back from the President

September 2007

Dear Parents, Teachers and Students,

It’s hard to imagine that it’s now September again and the start of the 2007-2008 school year.  Medway Secondary Home & School Association, Inc. would like to take this opportunity to welcome you back to an exciting new year. We hope you will be able to volunteer your time and talents as we plan another interesting and busy schedule of activities to support the enrichment of the Medway secondary school curriculum.

Medway Secondary Home & School Association (MSHSA) is a non-profit volunteer organization of parents, guardians and school administrators working together to provide enrichment activities for students in the middle and high schools.  As a parent or guardian of students in grades five through twelve, you are automatically a member of Medway Secondary Home & School Association; there are no dues to pay. Meetings are held on the first Wednesday of each month at 7:30 p.m. in Room 114A of the Medway Middle School.

In the past, MSHSA has raised funds to provide support for many activities and various events which enrich the scholastic environment of the Medway school system.  For a snapshot of how we’ve spend fundraising dollars this past year, please see the back of this newsletter.  Projects have included providing an after-prom party for juniors and seniors, magazine subscriptions, supplementing field trips, scholastic award trophies and gift certificates, scholarships, hosting speakers, books, art materials as well as supplies for the nurses.  Again this fall our middle school will be offering Innisbrook gift wrapping materials and candy.  (Our high school is encouraged to participate in this fundraiser with the online service.) We also are offering our SOS raffle ( Support Our Schools); please see the flyer included here.

Attached you will find our Volunteer Questionnaire.  It lists the many activities through which you may become involved with your child’s education through MSHSA.  Please fill out the form and volunteer your talents for the activities which interest you the most.  At our volunteer appreciation evening, we have heard from many of you how much you enjoyed the time spent participating.  The forms may be returned to the middle school or high school offices.  Fee free to share with us any suggestions or comments which will contribute to the continued success of MSHSA; our children can only benefit from your support.  We look forward to meeting and working with you this year.
